Okay, you know I get jacked up over "silly" things from time to time ("silly" only because I seem to give a crap when others don't..) .. today it's the "Word of the Day" definition, of all things...
The "Word for the Day" on google today is - vagrant.
vagrant | (noun) One who wanders from place to place without a permanent home or a means of livelihood. |
Synonyms: | drifter, vagabond, floater |
Usage: | When things started disappearing from their backyard, they began to suspect the vagrant who had recently been roaming the streets. |
So, they go with the dictionary definition for the word.. but then in the "usage" they imply that these people are also thieves. Worthy of suspicion. Etc etc etc..
That leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. As if the homeless don't have enough to deal with. Surely they could have used the word properly in a sentence without being so.. incendiary?
